THE WORLD BANK RECRUITS 01 ECONOMIST  
 (Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire / Term Contract of 2 years - Local hire)  
 The  Africa Poverty Reduction and Economie Management Department is  currently seeking to locally recruit a highly qualified candidate forthe  position of Economist in the Cote d'Ivoire (Abidjan) office. The  successful candidate will be mapped to the Africa Region's Poverty  Réduction and Economie Management (PREM) network and will be a core  member of the économie team for Côte d'Ivoire, working closely with the  Lead Economist and under the overail guidance of the Sector Manager  (based in Washington, D.C.). He/she will also work closely with the  Country Director for Côte d'Ivoire and inter-act with other members of  the Côte d'Ivoire country team both in Abidjan and Washington D.C. The  Economist will provide support to the Bank team and Country Office to  implement the Bank's Country Partnership Strategy for Côte d'Ivoire,  with particular focus on the macroeconomic policy dialogue, analysis of  core macroeconomic trends, support for économie management capacity  development and donor harmonization.

Provide  support to the Lead Economist in the économie policy dialogue with the  govemment and develop close and productive relations with clients and  stakeholders in the government, academia, NGOs, private sector, and the  international community.   
- Manage and contribute to économie monitoring and contribute to the macroeconomic work program for Côte d'ivoire.   
 
- Work on a macroeconomic database for Côte d'Ivoire and use this to prépare various économie monitoring reports'.   
 
- Support coopération with the IMF and other development partners, notably through active participation in IMF missions.   
 
- Contribute to the implementation of the Country Partnership Strategy.   
 
- Manage  and/or contribute to selected tasks in a range of areas with a focus on  public financial management, governance, competitiveness and growth  and sectoral developments, including préparation of analytical reports,  as needed.   
 
- Assist  in the supervision of existing lending opérations in the area of  économie management and public sector reform and the préparation of new  opérations as needed.   
 
- Oversee the work of short-term consultants and research assistants as needed.
