Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for all financial matters across Côte d'Ivoire and other neighbouring countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Mali and Senegal.
The position is based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire and includes travelling.

The CFO will have as responsibilities:
  • Develop, enhance and promote a strong internal control environment throughout the company, including the coordination and quality assurance of the various departmental risk and control self assessment processes, analysis of key risks identified, assess the adequacy of corrective actions and follow up of the implementation and appropriateness of corrective actions
  • Coordination and preparation of the annual budget and business plan
  • Variance analysis and interpretation of financial results
  • Ultimately responsible for all reporting (Statutory, management, cash forecast, treasury)
  • Proactive effective capital management including controlling the structure of the balance sheet
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulatory requirements
  • Coordination and ownership of all finance systems and related implementations and upgrades
  • Coordination of all audit, regulatory and other external examinations and reviews
  • Partnering with the business / trading lines to explain and comment on results
  • Support effective strategic decision making for the company on a whole
  • Coordination and validation of a Weekly Cash Flow Forecast
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller preferably within a local branch or subsidiary of a private company with rigorous reporting to regional/global head-office
  • Relevant degree, (ACCA will be a plus)
  • Experience in IT projects roll-out (installation of an ERP system,...)
  • Knowledge of Operating controls, Internal controls, Operational risks, IFRS...
  • Strong experience in Financial and Management Accounting
  • Strong management skills
  • Fluent French and English is a must
